Direct Maintenance starts B787 line maintenance for Qatar Airways
Direct Maintenance has today started to provide dedicated B787 line maintenance support to Qatar Airways at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, The Netherlands. The inaugural Dreamliner flight arrived from Hamad International Airport in Doha just ahead of schedule this afternoon and was welcomed with a traditional water canon arcade. Following successful cargo operations into The Netherlands since 2003, this new passenger route is connecting The Netherlands with Qatar Airways' fast growing international network of more than 140 destinations worldwide. The Doha-Amsterdam route is operated with the sophisticated B787 Dreamliner, seating a maximum of 258 passengers having choice between either 22 luxurious fully-flat bed seats or 232 comfortable economy seats.
Roger Meels, Director Sales & Marketing comments: "Direct Maintenance feels privileged to welcome Qatar Airways on the occasion of launching B787 passenger flights into The Netherlands. Within Direct Maintenance everybody is devoted to ensure this new operation will become a huge success from day one, by contributing to safe, comfortable and timely flights. Both Qatar Airways as well as Direct Maintenance enjoy the benefits of our long standing partnership, dating back 10 years now. We are delighted to support Qatar Airways during their further growth and development in the years to come."
The commencement of Qatar Airways B787 Dreamliner flights into Amsterdam marks another milestone for Direct Maintenance. As a result Direct Maintenance has now become the first provider of B787 third party line maintenance in The Netherlands. In 2012 Direct Maintenance also became the first A380 line maintenance provider. This once again highlights the ongoing investment in leading edge technology aircraft Direct Maintenance is supporting on behalf of its loyal customer base.
Direct Maintenance is uniquely placed, being the only airline-independent wide body dedicated line maintenance provider of The Netherlands. As such, bespoke levels of tailor-made line maintenance solutions are being provided with unmatched levels of customer focus.
Currently 43 aircraft-engine models are being served at 8 line station locations.
